Hello world, my name is Mario. I created this site as an answer to the following question.
What happens when there's not enough time in the day to do all the things you want to do?
Well, I don't know about you, but for me that means trying to pack it all in at night. That includes time for my lovely wife and tiny child. It includes trying to squeeze in a few chores. Maybe catch up on a show I may have missed. Go on a walk. Ummm, sleep?
But after (or maybe sometimes during) some of those things, it means lighting my face with the glow of my screen as I learn to code some Python.
Over the last two or three years, I was lured by the appeal of a development language that, in spite of (or maybe as a result of) its accessibility, the possibilities seemed endless.
Outside of a few ill-fated programming classes during my college years (some 20+ years ago), I knew very little about development. I had a couple of ill-fated, DIY website projects in the past, but the last time I did that in earnest was around 2007. I was still trying to learn how to center with CSS.
Needles to say, I've thrown myself in the deep end.
What this blog attempts to do is provide a journal of my process in—well, I guess in building this blog. Sort of like a Pythonic Ouroboros.
You can expect content that may resemble a tutorial, or perhaps overly-wordy reflections on things I know very little about. If you're looking where to start, this is probably a good bet.
